After including Sancho in the travelling squad, manager Ten Hag had claimed that the club needed players of Sancho's qualities and that he considered the attacker to be 'terribly good'. The duo had a public fallout in August 2023 and the player was later sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund during the January transfer window.

WHAT ERIK TEN HAG SAID

Speaking to reporters, the Dutch coach said, "We spoke well. Anyone can make a mistake. If the player reflects well on that, then you draw a line and move on again.
